Vortex

SETUP GUIDE

Set up your Places API key

Use a dedicated Google Cloud project and connect your own key to Vortex. Google bills API usage directly to your account.

  1. Create a dedicated project

In Google Cloud Console, create a project used only for this integration. This keeps API access and billing easier to identify.
  2. Enable billing for the project

Attach a Cloud Billing account to the project before enabling Places API requests. Google may charge for usage according to its current pricing.
  3. Enable Places API (New)

Open APIs & Services, find Places API (New), and enable it for this project. Do not enable unrelated APIs for this key.
  4. Create an API key

In Google Maps Platform credentials, create a new API key dedicated to Vortex. Copy it once and keep it private.
  5. Restrict the key

Under API restrictions, allow Places API (New) only. For application restrictions, use the option appropriate to server-side requests; do not use website referrers for server-side calls.
  6. Set a budget and request quota

Create a billing budget with email alerts, then review Places API quotas and set request limits that suit your expected use. An alerts-only budget may notify you without stopping usage.
  7. Add the key in Vortex

Open Settings, paste the key into the Google Places API key field, and save. The key is stored encrypted and is not returned to the browser in clear text.

When your key is saved, return to lead search. You can use the CRM manually while you are setting it up.
